Step 1: Contact us to open a warehouse account
First, contact the Soleil Transportation team on +1 888-998-5199 or at info@soleiltransportation.com. We will collect details about your product types, sizes, weights and storage needs to set up your account in our warehouse management system (WMS).
Step 2: Create a custom app on Shopify or set up the Etsy integration
- Shopify: Go to Shopify Admin → Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps. Click “Create an app”, name it “Soleil Fulfillment” and grant API access for: Read/Write Orders, Read/Write Inventory and Read/Write Products.
- Etsy: Go to Settings → Integrations in your Etsy dashboard, or grant account access through the authorisation (OAuth) link that Soleil Transportation’s technical team sends you.
Step 3: Configure the API and connect the systems
Once you have the API key or access token from Shopify or Etsy, log in to the Soleil Transportation customer portal, open “Integration”, choose your platform and paste in the credentials. The system will show “Connected” when it succeeds.
How everything runs automatically once connected
After the API connection is set up, your order processing runs fully automatically in a closed loop:
1. Initial storage in Mississauga
You ship goods from Vietnam to the Soleil warehouse in Mississauga (our two-way Vietnam–Canada air service starts at $16/kg including import duties, with a 7–14 day transit time). Warehouse staff count the goods, apply barcodes and update the quantities in the system. Your Shopify or Etsy stock levels update automatically straight away.
2. A customer orders and the order is pushed automatically

3. Packing and dispatch

4. Delivery and tracking updates
Once the carrier collects the parcel, the Soleil system automatically updates the tracking number on Shopify or Etsy. The buyer receives an email with the shipment’s progress. You can also check order status online at any time with your order or booking number in our system.
Key tips to avoid system errors with the API
In day-to-day operation, keep these points in mind so orders don’t get stuck or fail to process automatically:
- Match your SKUs exactly: Product SKUs on Shopify or Etsy must match the SKUs in the Soleil warehouse system exactly (including upper and lower case and hyphens). If they don’t match, the system can’t identify the product to pack.
- Follow the prohibited goods rules: The Soleil warehouse does not store items banned on every route, such as stimulants, cash, flammable or explosive dangerous goods, or fresh food of unknown origin. Lithium batteries need a separate declaration under air and domestic transport rules.
- Keep your account balance topped up: Make sure your Soleil billing account always has enough balance for the system to deduct fulfillment fees (from $5 CAD per order) and domestic shipping. We accept convenient payment methods including Interac e-Transfer, bank transfer, credit card and cash.
